First-Time in Japan? Don't Miss These 3 Crucial Tips to Avoid Regret!
Three Essential Tips for a Regret-Free Japan Trip
Japan is a popular destination that attracts millions of travelers every year.
However, first-time visitors often overlook a few crucial points. Here are three things I regretted during my first trip to Japan, which I hope will help make your journey more enjoyable and efficient.
1. Don't Overpack Your Itinerary
Japan is a country rich in culture, history, and food. However, Having a packed schedule every day can detract from the fun of traveling. Make sure to leave some days open for spontaneous exploration. This way, you might stumble upon hidden gems or unexpected delights.
For instance, I discovered one of the best restaurants in Japan by chance while wandering around Kyoto. Walking without a plan lead to unexpected pleasures.
2. Don't Rely Solely on Credit cards
Japan is still largely a cash-based society. Many Small restaurants, shops, and vending machines only accept cash. It can be disappointing to arrive at a restaurant you've been looking forward to, only to find out they don
t accept cards. Therefore, it's essential to carry enough cash.
3. Don't spend All Your Time in Tokyo
While Tokyo is the capital and has many attractions, the true essence of Japan can be experienced in Kyoto and Osaka. Spend at least three days in Kyoto to explore its serene atmosphere and make a day trip to Uji, famous for its matcha. Osaka is also worth spending three days in, with a possible day trip to Kobe.
Since you are planning/visiting Kyoto, Check various events to See Authentic Asian culture.
